July July July ... #GoodTimes #GayTimes #MoreGoodTimes

Hello Hello Hello and good welcome(?),

So I've had a pretty busy loooooong weekend. 2 shows Friday, down in Gloucestershire on Saturday and then Party In The Park in Birmingham on Sunday ... I won't tell you the setlist because we've tried some new stuff and want it to be a surprise. Especially for Godiva Festival @ War Memorial Park in Coventry this Saturday. We're on in the Rhythm Tent at half past 5 after Lee from Madness and his Ska Orchestra and Neville Staples from The Specials, and it's all for FREE so if you're in the Midlands and you're not there I want a seriously good reason for missing out on this one.

And then over the last two days I've been moving house in Leicester, no internet, and NO KETTLE for the last few hours ... whose idea was it to pack that up and put it in the car so soon ?!?! Before I had one last tea in the old place. Anyways, just murdered a lovely cup of the warm stuff in the new place and it feels so right. Good Times ... or as the kids say #GoodTimes ...

Anyways, the rest of the week? Heading down to London for the next two days, important meetings to be had and heading over to the New Designers Exhibition in Islington to take a peek at the best new art students in the UK. I'm sure i'll tell you a thing or two about it ... art galleries are a new pleasure ... just spread good feelings through great imagery ... and creativity makes me tingle ...

Then, Scorpios in High Wycombe on Friday night for me and ReggiiMental, it'll be nice to be back in High Wycombe, and so soon (they love us down there) as we kicked off the Coming Around Tour down there at the start of May. #GoodTimes #MoreGoodTimes

As this is quite a text heavy blog I'll leave you with a little picture of me from the last couple of months ... Enjoy !

... hanging out at Helsinki, Leicester's Premier Gay Club, with flowers in my hair for a friend's birthday ! #GayTimes

Matt Henshaw on the Radio ...

Here's a couple of radio interviews I've done over the last month and a spot or two ... B-Boy Soul getting played in the summer of 2011 ... sorry to keep being cryptic, but it's only a matter of time before we get on to phase 3 ... there are clues scattered around here and there ...

I'm having a little break at the minute ... these last few blogs have been post dated (clever, eh?) ... I'll be back  soon with some up-to-date info ...

In the meantime you can sign up to the mailing list on my website ... MattHenshaw.com ...

Stay Tuned,
Matt.

My Glastonbury 2010 highlights ... 40th Anniversary ...

Unfortunately this is a view from the armchair perspective of Glastonbury 2010 ... from reports I've had apparently Jerry Dammers put on quite a reggae - liscious show with an orchestra ... and I'm sure there's other things that I've missed that the wonderful BBC couldn't show ... I know my highlights when actually being at the festival have nothing to do with the music most of the time ... it's all about love and peace man ... Gorillaz with Bobby Womack, Snoop Dogg, Lou Reed, Shaun Ryder, De La Soul, Mark E. Smith and a ridiculous cast of some of the coolest f*ckers in the world of music from all corners of the globe ... Ray Davies Stevie Wonder Dr. John featuring Chris Barber Toots And The Maytals Faithless So there ... a nice mix I hope you'll agree ... just wish I could have been there in the sunshiiiiiiiiiiiine ...

Mogadishu Festival (July 5th) w/ Kula Shaker, The The, Joanna Newsom and more ...

So, what's my plans for this week ??? Watch as much of the World Cup as possible ... get all the coverage of Glastonbury on the TV and athe radio ... record a radio session for the BBC with Reggii ... and last night I watched that John Lennon film with Christopher Ecclestone doing his Thomas The Tank Engine impression ... not bad though ... And just think ... most of this ... in fact almost all of this is through the magic boxes we have in our homes that connect us to the world, an the majority is provided by something we take for granted called the BBC, music, information and entertainment provided for us by the governing body of this country ... Well, imagine that we didn't have this, imagine that all this, including Gorillaz playing on the Pyramid Stage was considered un-islamic and we weren't allowed to listen ... that's how it is in Somalia, there's no music on the radio and you're just not allowed to get your groove on !!! Never !!! This is where the Mogadishu Festival comes in ... you can read all about it on the website ... but the top and bottom of it is a coming together of music and musicians who believe that this here music ban is a crying shame and an outrage ... http://mogadishumusicfestival.com/ Keep listening ... Stay Beautiful and Sweet Dreams ... Also, Vote for me to play at LoveBox 2010 if you would be so kind, thank you very much, it only takes a second ... http://apps.facebook.com/playlovebox/ And treat yourself to a FREE DOWNLOAD of the Adidas Trainers (Stan Smith remix) ... http://www.matthenshaw.bandcamp.com/

3 shows in 1 day ... that's rock'n'roll mister ...

This is the first live snap of Matt Henshaw and ReggiiMental playing for a live audience ... This shot is taken from the second of three shows performed on the 19th June 2010 ... the first show was on Derby Market Square in the outdoor sunshine as part of Fuse Festival in the name of Love Music Hate Racism ... a worthy cause I'm sure you'd agree and something close to the heart of The Deepest Cellar sessions ... the second show that day was live at the Derby Assembly Rooms as part of the same festival ... great to see some old Censored fans there praising the new songs ... The Deepest Cellar, Can't Hold Back and Adidas Trainers going down like gems ... The third show of the day was in the evening ... and a swift car journey down to leafy Oxfordshire and some much needed nutritional snacks for Mukka Fest and a very good gathering indeed ... like-minded people just looking for a good time and good music ... and good music was provided ... great to share a stage with the Unfriendly Neighbours boys ... something that will be happening more and more in the future I'm sure ... dropping what he had earlier it went down a real good reat um ... plus we through in a little Far Away for the reggae - soul set that worked out in such a way plus a little Grown Ups ... Vote for me to play at LoveBox 2010 if you would be so kind, thank you very much, it only takes a second ... http://apps.facebook.com/playlovebox/ And treat yourself to a FREE DOWNLOAD of the Adidas Trainers (Stan Smith remix) ... http://www.matthenshaw.bandcamp.com/
