It's been a busy year, and a busy summer already ... it's about to get a whole lot busier ...

A second instalment of Matt Henshaw Sings now, and it's a little different from the first, and the usual kind of cover versions you see on YouTube ...

I went to Portugal at the start of this month, and it was the longest I've gone for a long while without singing, apart from a couple of rounds on karaoke, but best not to talk about that really, so I thought driving up to my first show of the month I ought to try and warm up my voice with the iPod going round in the car, I skipped a few to find one that I could sing along to and belt it out, apparently I got really excited when Quinn The Eskimo came along, so the wife decided to start doing some cheeky filming ...



So, I sang a little and I smiled a little and I laughed alot. Unfortunately for everyone, I'm sure, it wasn't so much the prospect of singing along that got me excited, but all the useless/useful knowledge and trivia I have about the song, Quinn The Eskimo, Nicholas Ray, Manfred Mann, Bob Dylan and The Band ... I didn't really wreal much off here, but anyone who has ever sat in my passenger seat would be able to tell you, I love to give little bits of poptastic trivia out about whatever comes on my iPod.

Monday Morning here again,

Good day folks, here's my plan for another feature on this here Matt Henshaw blog - Matt Henshaw Recommends ... I've done this in the past and done my bit to project the careers of my musical contemporaries into the stratosphere, or there abouts, my guiding hand of recommendation has pointed a few people in the direction of Dog Is Dead, Jake Bugg, Twisted Wheel and George Moran, now playing guitar with Miles Kane. It's a lonely old life being a singer-songwriter so when you come across other musicians who are like-minded, a pleasure to spend time with or just bloody good at what they do it's always nice to share a little love for them in cyber space and spread the love.

Satsuma Elephants @ Pepper Rocks, Nottingham setlist ...

OK, so this is the last of the setlist blogs for a while ... no gigs for a bit, certainly no Satsuma Elephants 'till Y-Not Festival (we're on on Saturday afternoon by the way) unless something special comes up ... in the mean time we'll be working away at some new songs, beefing up the setlist and hitting the studio to demo some of them proper !

So, Pepper Rocks, Nottingham. Tuesday 18th June, remember the date, the first Satsuma Elephants show in their hometown. And what a show. Certainly the best dressed crowd the Elephants have played for so far. Especially Chief Satsuma in her home made Satsuma Elephants t-shirt ... and very snazzy indeed it looked too ! Evening folks,

If you've been flicking around the world wide web in search of Matt Henshaw produce you might have noticed that my social networks have had something of a design overhaul. Overhauled they have been indeed. MattHenshaw.com is now looking a little easier on the eyes. Nice clean, white and beautifully adorned by my face and that of Mr. ReggiiMental's, in the lead up to our album release on May 1st the site will grow organically and I'll be adding more and more content to there. Music, videos, images, blogs, feeds, whatever you need to make you surfing experience that little bit more exciting; as if a whole internet full of all the world's cyber information isn't enough already !

Stay tuned as shortly I'll be giving you live dates, album artwork if you haven't seen it already, tracklisting and special information only though of you plugged into the blogosphere are able to access. Hopefully your appetite is moistened and whetted and you're looking forward to the summer of 2013 as much as I am ... and with a new B-Boy Soul soundtrack to boot !

You'll get plenty to read about in good time. I'm working on a few things and a few things need working on.

In the meantime, I am trying to tweet as regularly as I can, so follow me on there - @matthenshaw11 - but do bear in mind that mainly I tweet about football and other sports, and more often than not it's Sheffield Wednesday flavoured ... ha ha! So, see you there ...

Lovely houndstooth pants right there ... and what a crescent moon face ... and if you could see the spot shining on the side of my nose like a star you could suggest it signals my conversion to Islam (and around Christmas time, what scandal!) ...
